Art in Science

My colleague and I run a science club after school once a week for students in grades 3 to 5. Each afternoon runs as a stand-alone science activity, and today’s focus was the magicĀ  of soap! After some brief observations of milk, the students added food colouring to their milk before “painting” with soap on cotton swabs. The food colouring is essential for the students to be able to see the movement of the milk fat molecules. They loved the visual.
